We sure do love and adore our family pets, don’t we? From the moment they come home, they make our days sweeter, our nights happier, and bring a lot of laughter into our lives. That’s why it’s so important to take an active role in their health by keeping them up to date on their vaccines, protecting them from pests, and treating them quickly when something seems amiss. The best way to do that is to partner with a veterinarian group that you trust, and can count on to be there for you and your pet. For many people and pets in our area, that veterinarian group is Trinity Oaks Pet Wellness Center.
Trinity Oaks Pet Wellness Center is conveniently located at 10003 Trinity Boulevard, near the western entrance of Foxwood and across from the Champion’s Club entrance. Since 2006, families from all over town have been taking their pets to Trinity Oaks Pet Wellness Center for their pets’ medical, boarding, dental and grooming needs. A full-service animal hospital, the experienced and compassionate staff is able to utilize the state-of-the-art facility to give pets the kind of care they need, from fleas to fractures and everything in between.
The office is clean, welcoming, and of course, pet-friendly! They treat cats, dogs, and now exotic pets like birds, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas. The veterinarians are adept at performing a variety of common procedures including spaying or neutering, applying soft tissue orthopedic techniques, and performing xrays and blood work draws in the “in-house” lab. No matter what your pets’ needs, you can rest assured that your pets will lovingly be given care quickly and efficiently.
Local resident, Kristin Nicole Schmidt, says, “Dr. Phillips and Dr. Watson, and the entire staff at Trinity Oaks Pet Wellness Center take wonderful care of our golden-doodle, Ryker!”
Pets Give Dr. Watson A Round of A-Paws!
You know that you’re at the right place when the pets are happy to come on in. Maybe that’s because Wendy Watson, D.V.M and Stephany Phillips, D.V.M., truly love what they do and it shows.
Kelly Omalia, who takes her kitties to Trinity Oaks Pet Wellness Center, says, “I love everyone [there]. They all always take great care of my girls.”
When Dr. Wendy Watson was growing up in Kentucky, she thought that maybe she’d be a Vet Tech, and that’s what she went to school to study, but she was told by a professor that she should go all the way with it, and she persevered, competing for a program at Auburn University that only accepted so many. After graduating from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, she worked at an animal hospital in St. Petersburg for 12 years.
Dr. Watson, who specializes in cats and dogs, says, “My experience there had a great influence on me. They taught me how to bond with clients and how to put pets’ needs first.”
While she loved it there, it was a dream of hers to open her own animal hospital. After a lot of hard work, that dream became a reality in 2006, and Trinity Oaks Pet Wellness Center was born. It’s this dogged (excuse the pun) determination and fierce approach to doing what she thinks is right and speaking her mind about it, that sets Dr. Watson apart. While wholeheartedly valuing and respecting the opinions of her pet owners, she’s a doctor you can trust to tell you what she thinks and what she would do if your pet were her own.
She says, “I really try to treat people the way I’d treat my mom, and the way I’d treat my own dog.” She adds, “I also tell people what I would do to my own dog, but I respect people’s decisions and wishes even though they may be different than my own.”
Birds of a Feather Stick Together with Dr. Stephany Phillips!
Dr. Stephany Phillips is originally from Clearwater, but her journey to become a veterinarian took her to Georgia, where she attended Georgia Tech, and then to Australia where she earned a Veterinary Medicine degree from Murdoch University. After returning to the United States, she worked at a nearby veterinarian and avian hospital before joining Trinity Oaks Pet Wellness Center a year ago in 2013.
Dr. Phillips says, “It’s so homey here. There’s a level of friendliness and support for our clients, their pets and their families that is unique.”
While she works with dogs and cats on a day-to-day basis, Dr. Phillips specializes in exotic animals like birds, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas.
Dr. Phillips says, “Exotics are harder to take care of because they’re not like cats and dogs, and many of them have very specific diets, habits and needs.”
Passionate about detecting disease, slowing it down and stopping it if possible, Dr. Phillips takes heart in protecting animals from suffering. She says the real way to help pets to live long, happy lives is to bring them in for regular well visits.
“Cats often get left out because they don’t tell you they’re sick until it’s too late,” says Dr. Phillips. “Yearly blood work and lab work can help catch things early and preserve the life and health of your cat and other pets.”
Dedicated to helping pets live the healthiest lives possible, Dr. Watson and Dr. Phillips are there to help when the time comes that a beloved pet is suffering. Their incredible, experienced staff takes the loss of a pet very seriously. They go out of their way to make sure that your pet is at peace, and to bring comfort to the humans left behind.
Cassie Crandall wrote a note of thanks, saying, “Dr Watson and all the staff are absolutely wonderful. I can’t thank them enough for everything that they do. The love and support they all have is amazing. Thank you for all from the bottom of our hearts for all you have done up to the final moments of our Sierra girl.”
If you’re looking for an animal hospital that will take care of your family pet with care, respect, dignity and expertise, choose Trinity Oaks Pet Wellness Center. Dr. Watson and Dr. Phillips are there and ready to be a partner with you in your pet’s health.
